We strongly recommend booking accommodation in Sheffield early as December is a popular time for visiting the city for Christmas and other holiday festivities. A few suggestions are provided below, with approximate distances to the Diamond and train station for your convenience.

In general, Sheffield is a very walkable city (if you don’t mind a bit of a hill), but with a very reliable bus and tram network available.

Accommodation Suggestions

There are many hotels around Sheffield to choose from, each within easy access to public transportation. Advance booking is advised as Sheffield central hotels can be busy during the festive period. Below are are selection of options that the organising committee have previously used.

    Very modern, high-end hotel in the city centre by the Winter Garden. 15 minute walk to the conference venue and 10 minutes from the station, with modern bars and restaurants at the doorstep.
  • Leopold Hotel – https://www.leopoldhotel.co.uk/en/
    This hotel is situated in the city centre. It is within a 10-15 minute walk of the train station and a 10 minute walk to the conference venue and a tram stop close-by leading to and from the station and conference venue and has a range of facilities and amenities. Booking through their website is advised, as they often have discounts available.

    Very modern, mid-range hotel in the city centre by the Winter garden. 15 minute walk to the conference venue and 10 minutes from the station, with modern bars and restaurants at the doorstep. Parking is available, but limited and cannot be reserved in advance.

    This is a no-frills budget option in the city centre. It is about a 20 minute walk from both the conference venue and the station, and also has public transport links and is close to restaurants and bars. It is best to book direct through their website as extra discounts are usually offered.

    Affordable city centre hotel, next to the Easy Hotel above, again with good public transport links, a 20 minute walk to the conference venue and a range of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
  • Ibis Budget St Marys Gate (0.8 miles) – https://maps.app.goo.gl/qw6GHVRauAzQos3U8
    Budget hotel on the ring road, easily accessible by car, though no parking is available from the hotel. 20 minute walk to the conference venue and 10 minute walk to the station. Not well located for public transport, however.
